"The Waste Land" by T.S.Eliot

Respected Sir,

Here is my views about "The Waste land"

1)                Yes, we can say that Eliot is more regressive as compared to Nietzche’s views. Because, Eliot tries to find out the solution from different religion of the past. Whereas Nietzche’s concept of superman is more of contemporary time. Eliot was able to see the rottenness around him of 20th century. If we say that this rottenness was only in the 20th century, then at some extent we are wrong because Eliot has used myths to prove his views, and myths are from past, which means this was also there in the past also. And if we talk about our present time then still we are able to find this rottenness around us. So, we can say that Eliot has achieved universality of thought by recalling mythos-historical answer to the contemporary malaise.

2) 2. The idea of the Unbehangen connected with Freud’s idea of Psychology. In our society, sometimes, our desires and wishes are not fulfilled. Our thoughts are repressed by other people. At that time, reaction is against society because society cannot give freedom to express one’s ideas or thoughts. If we compare majority and minority, minorities are always marginalized. So, if we give free vent to people, they are satisfied and feel equality. In our mind, always debate between individual thought and collective ideas. From childhood to maturity, some ideas are forced by society and we are result of these ideas. If we give free vent to the repressed “primitive instinct” lead us to happy and satisfied life because it depends upon our own psychological aspect and thinking process. According to Eliot, Salvation of man lies in the preservation of the cultural tradition. Salvation means Moksh. In our tradition, when we do good karma, our soul is free to the world. Karmic philosophy is connected with salvation. Culture itself is connected with some ritual and rites, religion. Tradition is connected with material things. Salvation presents the idea of giver not primitiveness and self control is also one thing of salvation. But always salvation of man does not lie in the preservation of cultural material thing. Because salvation is related to spiritual thing and not the material thing.

3) Here in The Waste Land, T. S. Eliot come with words likes  In brihadaranyaka Upanishad  Datta. Dayadhvam. Damyata. It is interpreted as "Datta" by men which means "give" as men are naturally avaricious. the sound as "Dayadhavam" which means "compassion" as they are cruel. Finally, the Gods interpret it as "control" as they are uncontrollable. Eliot concludes the poem by repeating the word "Shantih Shanith Shantih”. Shantih is a sacred word from the Hindu faith.

A Baby Running Barefoot

"A Baby Running Barefoot"                                                                                             D. H. Lawrence                                         In the poem "A baby running barefoot" by D.H. Lawrence uses imagery to describe how the baby is running around beautifully and barefooted.                                     The poem is spoken in the voice of a first person narrator who is watching a female baby run across the grass. The narrator uses similes and metaphors that describe the baby's feet by comparing them to aspects of the natural world such as butterflies, flowers, and water.                       In the first line the poet talks about the "Barefeet" of baby who runs across the grass. He then tells about her little white feet, nod like the flower, nod in the wind he beautifully had described. How a baby child runs across the grass out of innocence
